Food Safety News – May 2011
What goes on behind closed doors?
This year’s Food Safety week runs from 6th-12th June and will focus on the importance of good food hygiene in the home. It will be exploring what goes on behind closed doors, looking at what people do in their own home when preparing and cooking food. This annual event will be debunking some common food hygiene myths and explaining, for example, why you really should not wash poultry.
Food Safety week is organised by the Food Standards Agency who are currently developing resources for the week. It is supported by many Local Authority Environmental Health Departments and food safety consultants. If you are interested in becoming involved or find out more you can register your details with food standards agency by clicking here.

Next month’s issue will contain more information on the event
